New Fashion Column – Autumn Kids Trends

Hello!

Here comes another little children’s fashion update for you …

The school summer holidays have come and gone so quickly, don’t you think? Almost as swift as the visiting Worthing seafront food market!!
As we prepare our ‘Back to school’ basics; I thought it would be a great time to review some of the Autumn kids fashion trends. So have you been watching BBC 2’s ‘No More Boy’s and Girl’s’? A programme exploring the bias towards children, depending on their gender. The ‘gender neutral’ trend is gaining momentum and appearing in many young fashion collections too.

Autumn Kids Trends

Many international fashion designers now have a kid’s designer collection, Armani, Boss, Chloe, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Junior Gaultier, Kenzo Kids, Ralph Lauren etc. The world of fashion is so diverse and there is always something for everyone’s taste.

Many of the key trends get diluted into High Street collections, here are five of the key kidswear Autumn/Winter 2017/18 trends:

  1. Gender Neutral Statement, genderless casual sportswear and basics.
  2. Historical Romance, girls muted palette and florals, boys tweed waistcoats, shearling, chiffon, ruffles, velvet.
  3. Character, Circus, Robots, Funky Monsters, Dinosaurs
  4. Heritage, homegrown textiles, tweeds, knit, woven checks, English country estates.
  5. Dark Nature, woodland creatures, Norse Scandi inspired, hoods, hats, leather.
