We are all surrounded by inspirational women, mums, who are running their own businesses and rock at it!
This feature is dedicated to those ladies to help and support local mums in business.
In today’s post we meet Nancy Carter who run her own business called Do Stuff U Love.
Tell us about you and your family
I’m married to Damian and have been for nearly 14 years. We have two daughters who are seven and eight and (dare I say it), in the easy stage between being little kids and teens.
Are you originally from Worthing?
We moved to beautiful Worthing a year and half ago, after thinking about it for YEARS. We met and lived in Brighton for a couple of decades but I grew up in Suffolk.
What’s your favourite thing about living on the South Coast?
I adore the beach by our house, along with the little parade of artists huts by Coast Cafe in East Worthing. I love that we can pop out after school and get a couple of hours on the beach before bed.
Hobbies? What do you do in your spare time?
I love to cook and garden. As a family, we like to scoffle in the woods and barbecue on the beach.
Tell us about your business, why you started and what drives you on?
I started ‘Do Stuff U Love’ as I saw a gap in the market where small businesses were needing to set up and run their own websites, blogs, newsletters and social media but didn’t necessarily have all the skills to do it well or the money to pay big agency fees.
I go in and work with all sorts of businesses, charities and organisations, sometimes doing the work for them, but more often training them to do it themselves. I love the diversity of my work and that it’s completely flexible around my school run and holidays.
Nancy is a a mum who couldn’t fit the school run and holidays into her job, so she set up on her own and now her job fits around her life.
