Do you run your own business? Would you like to be part of a like-minded, supportive group? MCB – Mums Connecting In Business – could be the group you’ve been looking for.

Katie and Tanya founded their Mums Connecting In Business group at the beginning of last year. They both wanted to meet up regularly with other mums in business, so decided that organising a get-together and Facebook group for their friends in business was a great place to start. They thought it would be amazing to share ideas with like-minded people, whilst being supportive of each other. As Katie and Tanya are both mums of young children, it was also very important to them that the Meet Ups were relaxed and child-friendly, allowing all mums the chance to network even if they didn’t have childcare.

Katie and Tanya’s Dads used to run a business together in Worthing, which is how they originally know each other. It felt completely natural that they would follow suit and end up supporting each other in business.

About the group

The group meet up one morning every month and sometimes for an extra evening. The Meet Ups always have a relevant speaker, a welcome drink and a raffle of prizes donated from the fantastic members of MCB. The meetings are always relaxed and welcoming, and children are welcome.

You can find out everything you need to know by requesting to join the MCB – Mums Connecting In Business group on Facebook. The Facebook group also provides opportunities to share and promote your business, as well as benefiting from the regular tips and discussions.

Some of the upcoming Meet Ups include a pop-up shop to showcase your business or products; a social Christmas drinks evening; and talks on effective business planning, personal positivity, digital marketing, networking, time management and parenting.

Tanya and Katie take a lot of time to organise relevant and beneficial talks for their members and are always open to suggestions of topics that could be covered.

What their members think…

I love the fact that there are all aspects of businesses within the group, with everyone supporting each other. It makes you accountable with the encouragement you need, and an informal approach I feel very comfortable. Jayne

To have the support and friendship from other mums that run their own businesses is  empowering. It’s great we can all offer advice from our own personal experiences. I find comfort knowing that we all have each others backs at a time when life in general is particularly busy. Mel

If you are a mum in business, then Tanya and Katie hope that you will request to join their Facebook group and look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into one of their Meet Ups.
