Following on from the amazing success of last year’s star-studded pantomime Aladdin, Worthing Theatres are proud to present their latest performance – the classic Cinderella.
There’s a whole host of big names in this year’s pantomime. Cinderella will be played by Naomi Wilkinson who is recognisable to both children and adults alike as a presenter on CBBC, Milkshake! and Countryfile, as well as Naomi’s Nightmares of Nature. She started her performing career as a Butlins’ Red Coat and has many years of panto under her belt.
Joining Naomi as Prince Charming is Mark Read, one of the stars of boyband A1. Not content with top 5 hits in the UK and internationally, Mark has also starred in many musical theatre productions – including Hairspray, Rent and Guys and Dolls.
Prince Charming’s aide Dandini will be played by Strictly Come Dancing legend Ian Waite, in his pantomime debut. Ian is currently touring the UK with hit dance show The Ballroom Boys, also starring fellow Strictly star Vincent Simone.
Panto fans will also recognise the hilarious Mark Jones, who returns to Worthing to play Buttons, following his star turn as Wishee Washee in Aladdin last year. Wishee Washee was my kids’ favourite character and they can’t wait to see him again.
As if that wasn’t enough, there’s Bad Girls Nicole Faraday as the Wicked Stepmother, Katie Pritchard as the Fairy Godmother and Oliver Broad and Jake Snowdon as the Ugly Sisters (complete with super cool sweetie inspired dresses!)
You can rest assured that the pantomime will feature lavish costume and scenery as well as plenty of modern and classic songs for all the family to enjoy.
Pantomime wouldn’t be complete without the big dance numbers either and this year is no exception. Cinderella’s choreography will include 24 local children who auditioned for a coveted place in the line-up.
