Spooky Half Term at Squire’s Garden Centre

Recently, we were invited to try out painting the ceramic tealight holders that Squires are getting ready for October Half Term.

Everything was set up and ready for us to go and get stuck in. We painted a pumpkin and a skull. I must admit, I found it very therapeutic and it got my creative juices flowing! The idea is that your kids do the painting, but my son wanted me to join in (okay, I really wanted to have a go!).

october half term worthingThe paints dry really fast, are very easy to apply and there are lots of colours to choose from or simply mix. There are also glitter glues and even glow-in-the-dark paint! The staff were very friendly and my very chatty six-year-old enjoyed Suzie’s company very much. She showed us a few tricks to make our creations really stand out.

You should probably allow 20 – 30 minutes for each tealight.

The Create & Grow events during school holidays vary depending on the season and are always very popular. They are always a great activity to plan for one of your days of with the kids without breaking the bank and with something really fun to take home too. You can find out more on their website or on the special Squires Pinterest board

Here are our final products, I’m rather proud of my artistic capabilities!

More details about the workshops:

From Monday 23rd until Tuesday 31st October (10am-4pm) children can paint a ceramic pumpkin or skull tealight holder, which comes complete with a complimentary LED tealight. Place it on your windowsill to brighten up your room during those long spooky evenings.

There will also be a free monster pursuit around the garden centre and a ghostly colouring competition. Each entry will receive a sticker, and the best colouring entry will win a prize!

So keep your little ghouls entertained this half term by bringing them to Squire’s Garden Centres (excludes Chertsey & Woking). There’s no need to book, simply drop in between 10am-4pm from Monday 23rd until Tuesday 31st October. Fancy dress is very welcome too! www.squiresgardencentres.co.uk

Please note, a parent or guardian must accompany the children at all times. First come, first served. Product only available while stocks last.
