Jo Lodge, an award-winning illustrator and paper engineer, is probably best known for her Mr Croc books which have sold worldwide. Sally will read the latest Wiggle And Giggle board books with her hilarious rhyming text. Jo will show the children how to paper engineer and make characters from the books come to life! Art in the Park @ Steyning Big Top, Fletchers Croft Steyning 12:00 -17:00
Inspired by Nick Sharratt’s ‘Draw Along’, this is an afternoon of arts and crafts suitable for all ages. So, access your inner Leonardo or Tracy Emin and become an artist for the afternoon. Use the easels and drawing materials provided by Steyning Arts (courtesy of Seawhites of Brighton) to draw a model who will pose for you or anything else that takes your fancy in the landscape. Contribute to a community mural which will then decorate the Big Top for the rest of the festival. Children can create a collage of landmarks of Steyning using different techniques inspired by Kandinsky. If your face is your canvas, let Lisa turn it into a work of art. All this, and more, plus some roving entertainers and an afternoon of music provided by Southdown Funk and the Cheer Up Mollys. After a successful 2016 event, Breakin’ Convention are back alongside local heroes Audio Active, Street Funk, Rounded Rhythm and Tot Rockin’ Beats, to bring a full day of workshops and master-classes in the art of hip-hop culture. Specialising in music production, DJ Skills, breakdancing, lyric writing/emcee-ing and graffiti, we’ll be offering people of all age groups the unique opportunity to learn and develop new skills from the masters of their craft.
